We breed a small variety of Conures at the moment with the plans expand to as many species as we can legally get with in Australia

Conures species we currently Breed are:

Our Conures are fed a measured amount of seed per week so they do not get over weight and un healthy they are also fed a variety of seven fruit and veg on Monday, Wednesday & Friday during the off season But during the Breeding season our feeding gets a little more complicated

During the breeding season our Conures get a Measured amount of our seed mix , Fresh fruit and veg every day with liquid calcium added every second day and every other day they get a multi vitamin supplement

All our Conures are wormed just before (June) and just after (January-February) the breeding season with a water diluted wormer

All our Conures are housed in suspended aviaries measuring

900 High x 700-900 Wide x 1800-2400 Long

We use Cockatiel style boxes to breed most of our Pyrrhura Conure species

Measuring 200 square internal and 300 high

But we also use the A frame box for the larger Conures (Sun, Nanday & Janday)

Box’s are required to be in the aviaries all year round as all Conure species use them to roost in at night and it also reduces the chance of night fright in the aviaries and is a safe place for them to hide when they feel their in Danger

The nesting material (fine wood shavings) is placed in the bottom of the box to a depth of 5-7cm and the Conures will arrange it as they see fit

When there is young in the nest we change the nesting material week or two to keep it as hygienically clean as possible and gives us the chance to check each of the young in the nest thoroughly as all young will need to be removed to do this
